Day 17: List your highs and lows of this past year.

Let’s get the lows out of the way first, yes?

Lows:

  • Getting laid off at the end of August was definitely a low point.
  • Having an antler crash on my mostly bare foot the same day I no longer had health insurance? Low point. (I still haven’t gotten it checked out.)
  • Getting a cold the day before I flew back from Chicago.
  • Cleaning up vomit at my old job was one of the worst tasks. 😛 I still don’t know how someone managed to get puke inside a toilet paper dispenser.

And now for some good stuff with pictures!

Highs:

Making jam with friends! We called it "Firefly" after the tv show.

I went to my 10 year high school reunion in Chicago--a central US location since our high school is in Kenya.

dino poo

Going to my 10 year high school reunion in Chicago. Everything from that weekend was amazing. It was fun to travel independently. It was great catching up with my old classmates. I got to hold fossilized dinosaur poop.

Related^: I saw the wardrobe (C.S. Lewis’) from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe at the Wade Center at Wheaton College.

Navy Pier with Chicago skyline behind it. I took so many pictures Labor Day Weekend, and I loved pretty much every minute of the trip. :)

  • Continuing to do well in grad school!
  • Deciding to take myself off the diet wagon for good.
  • Getting to work more closely with the youth in our church.
In March, we went on vacation to Cannon Beach, OR. We visited Seaside and Astoria during our time on the coast. In Seaside, we went to the mini aquarium where I fed the harbor seals.

I’m sure there are more of both, but that’s pretty good. 🙂
